In a new publication just published in the Astrophysical Journal, we teamed up with colleagues from other γ-ray instruments and from the IceCube neutrino telescope. The paper reports about results from searches for γ-ray emission from the directions of high-energy neutrinos that have been detected with IceCube. Because high-energy neutrinos should be accompanied by γ rays, a sophisticated alert system has been put in place, such that the detection of a high-energy neutrino can promptly be followed up with the H.E.S.S. telescopes. While no significant signal was found, the results demonstrate that the alert system works well – and we will keep searching!
